The exhibitions<\/a> in the 10th Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gasp\u00e9sie are currently being installed in 12 of the peninsula\u2019s municipalities, towns and national parks. Bringing together some 30 artists from Qu\u00e9bec and elsewhere in the world, they are being presented, for the most part, from July 15 to September 30.<\/p>\n

To see in the RCM of C\u00f4te-de-Gasp\u00e9<\/strong>: the exhibition Crowds <\/em>by M\u00e9lissa Pilon (Montreal, QC) at the Grande-Grave Heritage Site in Forillon National Park. The exhibit From One River to the Next <\/em>by Christophe Goussard (France) and Charles-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rick Ouellet (Qu\u00e9bec City, QC) will be presented at Centre culturel Le Griffon, in L\u2019Anse-au-Griffon, until August 19. Gasp\u00e9, meanwhile, will be hosting the fourth stage of the exhibition Iran: Visual Poetries<\/em>, entitled Dissonances<\/em>. Curated by Claudia Polledri, this four-stage circuit (Gasp\u00e9, Perc\u00e9, Carleton-sur-Mer and Bonaventure) presents the work of 17\u00a0Iranian artists: Mehran Mohajer, Mehrdad Naraghi, Dadbeh Bassir, Arash Fayez, Hosein Davoodi, Ghazaleh Hedayat, Rana Javadi, Bahman Jalali, Mehdi Vosoughnia, Ghazaleh Rezaei, Jalal Sepehr, the duo Ali Nadjian and Ramyar Manouchehrzadeh, Shadi Ghadirian, Mehrdad Afsari, Babak Kazemi and Yahya Dehghanpour.<\/p>\n

In the RMC <\/strong>of Rocher-Perc\u00e9<\/strong>: Immeasurable<\/em>, by Rachel Echenberg, is on exhibit near Rue du Quai in the Charles-Robin historical sector in l\u2019\u00cele-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Perc\u00e9 National Park, as well as on the Bonaventure Island dock. Also to be found in the same historical sector is Committing<\/em>, the third stage in the circuit Iran: Visual Poetries<\/em>. Finally, in Chandler, the exhibition My Big Family <\/em>by Hua Jin (Montreal, QC) is being held near the Cantine du Chenail.<\/p>\n

As for the RMC<\/strong> of Bonaventure<\/strong>, the exhibit Coastline \u2013 situation scenario<\/em>, by Natacha Clitandre (Montreal, QC), the result of her residency in the Gasp\u00e9 this past spring, is being presented on the boardwalk and at the Centre culturel de Pasp\u00e9biac. In New\u00a0Richmond, Anne-Marie Proulx (Qu\u00e9bec City, QC) presents Her Hands the Winds<\/em>, the outcome of her residency in the Gasp\u00e9 in spring 2018 and winter 2019. Bonaventure for its part welcomes Traversing Tehran and its images<\/em>, which comprises stage one of the circuit Iran: Visual Poetries<\/em>, near the tourist information office.<\/p>\n

Lastly, in the RMC of Avignon<\/strong>, the exhibition In the Reflection of the Rice Paddies <\/em>(Maria)<\/em> by Sophie Z\u00e9non (France) is being presented from July 29 to September 30\u00a0at Gesgapegiag (in the park near the Lobster Hut), in partnership with Diaphane, p\u00f4le photographique en Picardie. Partenza<\/em>, by Renata Poljak (Croatia), is on exhibit at Parc du Vieux-Quai, in Maria, in collaboration with Occurrence, espace d\u2019art et d\u2019essai contemporains. The exhibit Capital Camera Exchange Inc. \u2013 Anonymous Amateur and Professional Photographers (2015-2018)<\/em>, by Michel Campeau, along with the exhibition aCCCumulation<\/em> by Michel Campeau, Bertrand Carri\u00e8re and Serge Cl\u00e9ment (Montreal, QC), are being held at the Vaste et Vague artist centre in Carleton-sur-Mer from August 5 to 30. aCCCumulation<\/em> will also exhibit works on the Pointe Tracadigash (by the lighthouse) in Carleton-sur-Mer from August 5 to September 30. That town is moreover playing host to Crossing time: between present and past<\/em>, which constitutes the second stage of the cycle Iran: Visual Poetries<\/em>, as well as the exhibit The Photographic Book <\/em>2019, which will be presented at the Gabrielle-Bernard-Dub\u00e9 library from August 15 to September 16 and is curated by Serge Allaire. As for Miguasha National Park (former visitor centre), in Nouvelle, Skawennati (Montreal, QC) presents The Peacemaker Returns<\/em>. Finally, the Deux-Rivi\u00e8res lookout, in Matapedia, hosts Viva \u2019o rre<\/em> by Carlo Rainone (Italy), thanks to a collaboration with the Photolux festival.<\/p>\n

Rencontres on Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n

The public is invited to take part in the various activities of Rencontres on Tour, which will run from August 15 to 18, 2019, in different places, from Matapedia to L\u2019Anse-au-Griffon, in the presence of a number of participating artists. On the program, among other things: guided tours of exhibits, open-air screenings, exhibition openings, and discussions.<\/p>\n

International partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n

In terms of France, the Rencontres partnership with Diaphane, p\u00f4le photographique en Picardie has been renewed for two years. In addition, new agreements have been concluded with the City of Nantes and the Nantes organization Les PUI \u2013 Pratiques et Usages de l\u2019Image with regard to holding public events in that city and in Montreal. On other fronts, Rencontres continues to collaborate with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Montreal, and a first collaboration is under way with the Photolux festival in Italy with the goal of creating a three-year partnership.<\/p>\n
